I've suggested US undergraduate commits suicide after 'outing' via webcast for a featured article, even if I am opposed to straw polls for every flipping thing. It's a great article, imo. - Amgine | t 05:59, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, good stuff; I noticed it seems quite popular, but isn't featured, yeah. Chzz (talk) 06:03, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Why are you awake? en.WN prefers to suck essence from well-rested souls. - Amgine | t 06:05, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have noticed it appears to get a bit lighter and darker, on a seemingly regular basis, but thicker curtains and good electric lighting helps me ignore it, mostly. Chzz (talk) 06:22, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

LGBT student suicides

Hi. Amgine was commenting just now in IRC that xe's become aware that this month the US has seen at least five LGBT student suicides, all with bullying connections. There ought to be some news commentary/coverage on this wider issue soon. Since the recent death made an impression on you, I thought you might be interested in collaborating with somebod(y/ies) to do some comprehensive reporting. Try and catch the two of us in IRC sometime if you're interested, we'll go from there. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:53, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK; certainly worthwhile. I'll think about it, and if I have time, sure. Cheers, Chzz (talk) 21:10, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Busy elsewhere? We understand, but this is a notice of privilege expiry!

Note! Your privileges on English Wikinews have been reduced.

Under the Privilege expiry policy (enacted October 13, 2012) the rights held by your user account have been reduced due to inactivity, or lack of privilege use. You can view your user rights log here.
Point 4 of the Privilege expiry policy provides for fast-tracking reacquisition of privileges. We all understand that real-life commitments can severely curtail the level of commitment you can give to Wikinews; the privilege reduction is in no way intended as a reflection on your past work, or to imply you are unwelcome. The aim in curtailing privileges is to address security risks, and concern that a long period of inactivity means you may not be up-to-date with current policy and practices.
