We could then add the "Original Reporting" tag at the bottom of the story.

By the way, we don't use bylines with the name of the author on Wikinews stories, because everyone is free to edit the story.

I did in fact witness this personally, but I'm a relative newbie to Wiki-ness. Thanks for the tips! I will make some updates to the article.
