Hi Alan,

Thanks for the geyser story submission.

I had to move it to a different page, because it seems that you accidentally renamed the submitted stories template, rather than creating a new page for your story. No permanent harm done, though. I restored the old page, and I think I saved all your edits as well. The new story is here.

Do you have any more information from the fellows who saw the geyser erupt? A quote via email or something?

Anyway, thanks again for the submission, Your friendly neighborhood Wikinews administrator, Pingswept 04:37, 24 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pingswept,

I haven't received any additional quotes or comments at this point. Tomorrow (~9 hours from now -- morning at Yellowstone park), there will undoubtedly be a flood. The weather at the geyser appears to have been quite pleasant at the time of eruption -- so park visitors were surely there when the thing started. They will have interesting stories to tell.

Sorry about the "move" mistake.

Great. I'll keep my ears open. Don't worry about the move thing-- no harm done.

Hi, and thanks!

I would strongly encourage you to remove the e-mail address from your user page, though... If you'd like I can remove it from history of your user page as well.

Thanks for the great article (and the scoop!). I see you're adding notes as I type here, so I'll end now and read up. - Amgine/talk 23:57, 24 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yes, thanks. I removed my email address from the notes and my user page. I added my email in my account preferences.

<nod> I see that. Once you added your e-mail account to preferences, people can now e-mail you through Wikinews without ever knowing your address; which is nice if you wish to avoid spam. Using your account address http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/User:Alan_Glennon (or [[User:Alan Glennon|Alan Glennon]] to get Alan Glennon) is a good way to link your name on Wikinews. Using four tildes ~~~~ will also put in the link, and the time you wrote it, sort of a signature/timestamp deal in the software. - Amgine/talk 00:11, 25 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
