Many times, other Wikinews reporters can spot stylistic, newsworthiness or verifiability problems in the text. Rather than wait for an article to be published or leave a comment on the talk page, a number of templates have been created to address common problems that occur in work to alert the primary author that these things need fixing before an article will be ready to be submitted or resubmitted.
Who edit
The lede and the read of the article should answer who was involved in an event so that an international audience and a local audience both would understand who is involved. This should be as clear as possible, and avoid the use of slang. Throughout the article, this should also be done.
What edit
Where edit
The lede and the rest of the article should answer where. It should be as specific as allowable by sources and the type of article being written.
When edit
The lede should always answer when. If the first paragraph does not answer when, the article will almost certainly not be published.
