Audio Wikinews Newsline
What is it
editPHONE NUMBER HAS CHANGED, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR SPEEDDIALS
Audio Wikinews Newsline would be another way for users to access Wikinews Content, most suitibly when they are unable to access a computer. Audio Wikinews Newsline would deliever content similar to that of News Briefs, however be accessible to users using telephones (both SIP and PSTN).
This service would be similar to that of TellMe's service (for those of you in the USA that's 800-555-TELL, say "news" at the prompt).
I've set-up a basic one (US 360-515-4161 and UK 0871 422 0036), for people who are interested. For international users, please contact me for farther instructions on how to connect (chances are their is a local "shared" number in your country)
Feel free to post you ideas here. terinjokes User Page / Talk 22:21, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

editCompletley Support! - I just called it a minuite ago. We may need to set up a different one and get a clear microphone to record the news, however this is awesome! You have my complete support. Thunderhead(talk)(Check out my RFA test) 22:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- This is great. I think we should add it to the main page (under the section for Wikinews:Hotline). Bawolff ☺☻ 00:01, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- Comment Bawolff, sure just let me set it up on it's own system first (the system it's currently one is my voicemail box...) And maybe we can get some more DID numbers. I can get another one in Washington no problem. It's just that in other states its USD35/year, and about the same for other countries. IDK if Wikimedia would get some, or if we could get donations from people. terinjokes User Page / Talk 03:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

- Comment Personally I'm against uploading the audio to commons, if i do I'm afraid people would listen to it there, and lose the point that AWN is supposed to be. AWN is made to be listened to over the phone, it's quick and to the point, quick little updates throughout the day. If people listened to the OGG file over the internet, it loses it's purpose. Listening over the internet is covered already covered by Audio Wikinews (and new recordings as soon as i can get audicity to work, it crashes at start...). I have no problem uploading the scripts however. Those you can't listen to, and for archivel (sp?) reasons terinjokes User Page / Talk 03:56, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
::Comment I will also be recording some of the messages. Thunderhead(talk)(Check out my RFA test) 03:16, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
