Dennis is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has also lived in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Melancon started American History Now in 2004. Today, the site strives around a blog, a news page, The American Times, and the AHN Community. There is also a Facebook page.
