US President Joe Biden steps down from US presidential elections as he has now supported Kamala Harris for president. This comes after what many considered a poor debate performance on June 27, 2024, and heightened scrutiny on the President's health. Following the debate, many congressional Democrats publicly called for Biden to withdraw his name from the race. For nearly a month, he remained committed to remaining in the race. However, on July 21, he announced his withdrawal from the race. With his endorsement of Harris, she quickly became the presumptive nominee for the party.
