A bridge under construction along the Chambal river collapsed in KotaIndia, trapped more than 40 people under debris, and injured five, on Thursday.
Twelve bodies have been recovered from the river, and Rajeev Dasot, the inspector general of police, said that the remaining 30 are most likely dead. Numerous rescuers were on the site, however it could take another three days to finish cleaning the area.
Local investigators have arrested two project managers working for South Korea's Hyundai Engineering and Gammon India under suspicion of culpable homicide. The maximum penalty is ten years if convicted.
