Talk:Vietnamese police blamed for deaths of over 100 political protesters

I witnessed the whole incident, as i was going to a shop near Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City. I have lived there for the past two years, and when i first saw the protesters outside the large stadium in downtown Ho Chi Minh, i knew something bad was going to happen to them, so a took a seat in the cafe across the street and watched thw whole thing unfold. They had signs in Vietnamese, which translated meant "The Government took my house and all my jewlry and all my money in 1975, and they did not give it back. They are still in my house, and they will not give it back to me, or my money." Another one had a sign that said translated "When the government built a road, they took my house to tear it down, but they did not pay me money like they are suposed to. That was 10 years ago, and they have not paid me. When will they pay me for the house they took from me". The demonstrators were peaceful, and consited of mostly elderly women, but some men and young children. After about 30 minutes, some large military vehicles puled up near the protestors, and several police got out, and started throwing nets over the protestors. Some ran, while others could not because the police were clubbing people as they worled along the croud. They then took the unconcious people and the people stuck in nets and threw them in the back of the military troop transport vehicles. I was in vietnam at the time, and the internet is censored, so i could not file this. A few days ago, uppon reaching the unites states, i heard on the Vietnamese radio stations that the police had killed about 100 of a group of 200 demonstrators protesting outside the large stadium in ho chi minh city on Wed June 27. I wanted to get this story out as soon as i could, because the world needs to know the horrors that the vietnamese government does to it's poeple, so i filed it here - Doan Ngo De. damusicman (Talk Page) 04:28, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I spoke with this person in IRC. I looked over the article and what not. Any objections to this article? DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 04:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

removedEdit

It was more appropriate for this to be here rather than in the article:

This story has not shown up on any of the “legal” or state run Vietnamese media for obvious reasons, but it has been picked up by the underground media there, and has been spread through the Vietnamese media in the United States, most specifically on Vietnamese radio stations. However, that was a sight I will never forget, people being trapped in nets like fish, and then just tossed into a back of a military vehicle. Women and several children i would age between 1 and 8 years old were treated the same way. It was absolutely horrific. (also by User:67.142.130.45). QuestionEdit

Why do the signs have so much text on them. Usually protests have small, eye-catching catchphrases on them? --Nzgabriel | Talk 07:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Depending on the script complexity (I don't know Vietnamese) you can squeeze a lot of information into a short space. --Brian McNeil / talk 09:09, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
