Talk:Vietnam's Le Van Cong wins gold in men's -49kg powerlifting at Rio Paralympics
Original reporting notes
editI am in Rio for the Paralympics and attended this event, doing some reporting for this at http://parasport-news.com/ and describing this at https://parasports.quora.com/ . Most of the verifying information was available via PDFs that I have screen capped below.
India's lifter could have had a chance at bronze but missed it. The Togo lifter was his country's only representative and missed with zero successful lifts. That was sad. The crowd was supportive after every lift, even when they failed to make them. That was a lot sadly.
The Vietnamese lifter started off with a Paralympic record in his first lift, missed on the second, then went on to have two more. The crowd is very slim and mostly Brazilian.
Not sure what else to add other than that. --LauraHale (talk) 19:00, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
