Using other wikinews article edit

Using the article Renegade General's forces claim responsibility for aerial attacks on Tripoli for background information on this story. CSJJ104 (talk) 19:19, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Category edit

Is there no category for this subject? I could see one for the 2011 civil war, but nothing for after that. I am unsure what conditions need to be met for creating a new one, or I would just do so myself. CSJJ104 (talk) 20:19, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Which subject? Some parts of our category hierarchy are less well-organized than others; if you mean the current situation in Libya, if there were such a thing it would be listed as one of the subcats at Category:Libya (and I don't see it there).
The rule of thumb we generally use for creating a category is that when the category is created there should already be at least three published articles to go in it. One then creates the category (consulting with others if one has doubts about what it should be called), populates it (which usually requires an admin since most of the articles for it are likely to be fully protected), and finally creates a mainspace redirect to the category (which an admin then fully protects and categorizes). --Pi zero (talk) 21:29, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Review of revision 2837577 [Passed] edit

After publishing and while thinking about translating to de:

  • Missing target in terms of party [1]
  • "Rulers within the region " - what region ist meant?

--Itu (talk) 16:06, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing that out. The Independent make reference to the rulers in the region, saying they are worried about "Islamist gains from Libya to Syria and Iraq." CSJJ104 (talk) 17:13, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Libya or Libyan edit

The lead sentence says "On Tuesday, officials of the US military said they believed recent airstrikes in Tripoli, Libyan last week were the responsibility of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)."

Should Tripoli, Libyan be Tripoli, Libya? --Blumrosen (talk) 01:53, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, we have a sophisticated technical technical term for that; it's called a typo.   fixed --Pi zero (talk) 08:10, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
