Shouldn’t it read, “US Supreme Court blocks stay on federal regulation *of* privately made firearms”? SynapticHammer (talk) 03:35, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Well, in my opinion the "of" reads more like "federal regulation of privately made firearms, in general" as opposed to "this federal regulation covering privately made firearms". Heavy Water (talk) 05:33, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I understand your point. Where “regulation” is used as a mass noun, however, “of” is a proper fit (according to the usage guide, not subjective interpretation); and, in this headline, also avoids the sequential use of “on”. It’s small potatoes, I know. ✌🏼 SynapticHammer (talk) 14:39, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
But my point was it's not being used as a mass noun here... Heavy Water (talk) 15:44, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I didn’t understand that implication from your comment. Regardless, after rereading the headline with this perspective a couple times, I agree. SynapticHammer (talk) 15:55, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Heavy Water (talk) 16:02, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
