Talk:Search engine Google sued by Agence France Presse
Edbrown05,
I compared the spelling and definition of "reframe" with "refrain" and "refrain" appears to be the proper spelling and word to use in this article.
Is there a difference between the UK and American English in the usage of these words? Usually the dictionary reference linked above is pretty good about noting British and American usage differences, and none are noted for these two words. — DV 23:10, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you DV for the correction. I made the change from the proper spelling just before I uploaded it. Goes to show sometimes you can trick yourself :-} -edw 23:48, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Name of the 2002 case?
editDoes anyone know the name of the Federal case from 2002 mentioned in the article?
I would like to read about it to find out more. — DV 00:44, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I searched a little bit myself for the ruling but was unable to come up with anything. Much on this issue is unclear to me in terms of international law, but I think this obviously holds relevance for WikiNews. The use of quotes and graphics in our news stories must be clearly understood. I will look into this and report my findings.
- I am coming to believe, upon further reflection, that the whole AFP lawsuit will be treated by the US court as frivilous since the issue was addressed in a previous ruling. By that I mean AFP is negligent, by not protecting their backdoor access to articles when they legally imply they are serious about protecting their content. If such ultimately proves to be the case, it opens a wider spectrum for use of content from other sites on WikiNews.

- Perhaps somebody with more intimate knowledge on the issue can provide information. -edw 03:55, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I think the question is, if you click on the Google link, do you get the full and complete story? or do you get redirected? and what about the cache that google keeps of alot of pages?
