Capable of shooting down planes? From what I understand from the article, it's an Anti-Tank missile, and from 'pedia, one with no guidance. Clarification needed? Maybe it could destroy an aircraft on the ground? Neebs 18:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

[1]. The launcher can shoot shoulder-fired rockets and is capable of taking down an aircraft. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 18:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rockets, by definition, lack have guidance, and it would be near impossible to shoot down an aircraft with an AT-4. Futhermore, the launcher is defunct. The line about it being capable of shooting down aircraft should be removed both in the article and on the front page. It is needlessly alarming, quite inaccurate, and journalistically irresponsible. 64.162.28.254 21:37, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The AT-4 is unguided, but if you are able to hit a moving target, you can take down any aircraft with it. It would require an experienced and skilled operator, according to my coworker who is in the army reserves and has trained with this equipment. Certainly, you cannot take down a jet that is at cruising altitude, but shortly after take-off it is possible, though difficult. --SVTCobra 01:08, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
You can shoot at planes with guns...and if you can do that, there is no stopping you from trying to hit a plane with one of these. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 04:16, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, Airliners, jets have been shot at with launchers in Iraq and Israel. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 04:17, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ever heard of 'leading the target'? Either way, this should elaborate on whether or not this still has a missile in it, as the article doesn't explicitly state so ("not in operational condition" could simply mean it had been broken). If it wasn't (which seems to be the case), "weapon" should be replaced with "tube". Single use means once it's used, it's junk. Unless the terrorist was planning on throwing the thing at a plane, it can't be called a weapon any more.--Dante 08:35, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

A gun is still a gun, even if you run out of bullets.
