  • he expedition was in Antarctica to help conserve huts used by the Australian explorer Douglas Mawson in the early twentieth century. Is this referring to the expedition that found the plane or the expedition associated with the plane? –Juliancolton | Talk 17:08, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's referring to the expedition that found the aircraft. It's phrased a bit confusingly, i know, but i couldn't come up with a clearer way to express that. Tempodivalse [talk] 17:52, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction edit

One of the two sources has not done their homework correctly. "...the plane, built in 1911... the 1911-14 Australian Antarctic Expedition used the plane to tow gear onto the ice in preparation for their sledging journeys," comes from Yahoo! via AP, but ABC states that "The aircraft was built eight years after the first flight of the Wright brothers in 1911." Which of these is wrong? Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Both sources say the same thing, it's just that ABC phrased it awkwardly to make it sound as though Wright Brothers first flew in 1911, not the year said airplane was built. Tempodivalse [talk] 18:30, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh. Congratulations, I'd never have guessed that. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:32, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
