Talk:Protests mark Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia University
I'd rather see "anti-Zionist" than "anti-Semitic" used in this context, but note that it's probably a thorny issue - thoughts? Sherurcij refusing to add Original Reporting until PD Articles are allowed 23:55, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Uh, no, I think his Holocaust denial puts him firmly in the anti-Semitic camp, thanks. --David Shankbone 04:15, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- He's an anti-Zionist, not an anti-Semitic. Period. Holocaust denial has no relevancy to this matter. You don't have to be anti-Semitic to deny Holocaust. Aranherunar 10:53, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- You can't remove opinions just because you don't like them, and what you removed was a significant representation of many opinions. And Holocaust denial is the epitome of antisemitism. --David Shankbone 11:22, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you listen to what he's said, he's asserted a positive view towards Jews. The only Jews that he has an issue with are those residing in Palestine, and that's the defining line between anti-Zionist and ant-Semitic. Let's not practice truth by consensus here. --71.181.32.71 04:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- In fairness, celebrating the Holocaust would be the epitome of anti-semitism - denying that it happened is at best historical revisionism. Ahmadeinejad has never advocated hating, or killing, people based on their religion. Sherurcij refusing to add Original Reporting until PD Articles are allowed 20:27, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- That's your opinion that this is what Holocaust denial is, at best. --David Shankbone 20:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Very biased
editI found this article (and accompanying picture) very biased towards the Israeli / Zionist / Jewish point of view. (Indeed, nearly everyone in the featured picture is Jewish -- see the yarmulkes.) You'd realize that Ahmedinejad is actually a very reasonable man if you heard his speech (I think you can watch it online). People aren't buying the propaganda of the Israeli lobby anymore. I recommend a read of the paper "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy" by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, which takes a scientific (objective) view towards this matter.
