Talk:Police ends demonstration of anarchist squatters in Belgium

OR notes edit

I followed the demonstration from 20pm to 23:30 pm. I took notes of the slogans of the protesters, interviewed a squatter but took only a few notes of that, not enough for a quotation. I noted the time the police actions took place. I spoke with VRT journalists on the scene and the Chief Constable. The chain of events was easily reconstructed from the many pictures I took. I also published a report and images on Indymedia:

Feel free to ask for verification on any details. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:55, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

In the lead paragraph there is this sentence: "None of the squatters were present at the time, mostly due to exams." Does this mean they are all students? If so, should they be described as such? --SVTCobra 12:11, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, most of them are students. I don't know what you mean by "should they be described as such", I wouldn't go saying "the students X Y Z...". --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 23:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I meant instead of calling them merely anarchists and squatters, perhaps they should also be called university students. If they are all students of a particular university then shouldn't they be referred to as something like "Students of XXX University who subscribe to anarchist policy and squatting rights"? That's just an example ... obviously it should be more in line with how they view themselves. --SVTCobra 00:36, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
