The flaws include domain spoofing by using international (foreign language) script and making it look like the real site's name, erasing files on Windows using .lnk (shortcut) files and erasing directories on Linux and other UNIX systems.

These assertions require support/sourcing. - Amgine 06:34, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The phishing one is a problem in 1.0 bodge-fixed in 1.0.1 but the rest is FUD. Dan100 (Talk) 23:38, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Technically-speaking, it's just a bugfix, not new "version"

edit

In case people are confused.. Only Firefox 2.0(+) should be regarded as new "version", just like you can't call Windows XP SP2 as new Microsoft OS King Ho Cheung 23:33, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Public service announcement

edit

Is it just me or does this article seem to be more of a public service announcement than news. The fact that a new version/bug fix/whatever is out is news, but then some of the stuff about zipped files and what not, feel like they arent news. Im not quite sure what im getting at here, but im sure that there is a point somewhere. Maybe we should have a public service announcement section, with i dunno, missing people, responses to disasters, virus warnings and what not some time in the future (when we have the peoplepower to do such things), or maybe im just rambling. Anywho the network is back up, so its all good The bellman 01:37, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
