Talk:More than 100 die in riots in Ürümqi, China
Problems
edit- The numbers cannot be verified.
- Video doesn't show what's going on completely
- The article is in the wrong tone.
- The article is biased.
Sorry, please clean it up in accordance with WN:V, WN:SG and WN:NPOV. Computerjoe's talk 17:57, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- What's with the exclamation marks?
;O
. - Julián (reply) 20:39, 5 July 2009 (UTC)- This article is so full of POV pushing, look at the quote "from" the Han woman, might as well just say "ALL HAN PEOPLE ARE EVIL AND THEY WANT THE GOVERMENT TO CRACKDOWN ON UYGHURS MORE". And where does this quote come from? Where is the source of that? Also, on the wiki page of this event it says "Conflicting estimates of the Han demonstrators' numbers were reported by the western media, and it varied from as low as 300 people to as high as 10,000 people", here it just takes the upper end and asserts it as fact. 66.11.73.69 (talk) 15:08, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Salvage
editMainstream media are now covering this; we can salvage it. Computerjoe's talk 16:48, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- The above issues have been removed, but it needs to be expanded to a full article. --SVTCobra 01:40, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- The article is fuller, and both sides are presented. Tuesday's riot has been added to Sunday's riot.SriMesh | talk 23:15, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Conflicting Statement
editMaybe I’m misreading this paragraph; however, in the 4th paragraph it states "Curfews were imposed, while cell phone and internet services were cut off." and then in the 8th paragraph it states "The Chinese government detained or arrested about 1,400 people and attempted to lock down communications including cellphones and Internet." Which one is it, did they successfully lock down communications or did they only try? Or is it talking about 2 completely different times? Dillard421 (talk) 17:49, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- They were cut off. I removed the second mention. -SusanLesch (talk) 19:36, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
