Ultimately, rather than leaving just the first sentence in the lede and making a new paragraph out of the second and third sentences, I've left the first and third sentences in the lede and made a new paragraph out of the second sentence. There were some distance-from-source problems, which I decided were collectively small enough for me to simply fix. I did wonder if we'd do better with a file photo of a Camry instead of a stethoscope. The earlier source is from the day before he met with the board; but it does corroborate he was going to meet with them Wednesday, so I've allowed it. "embattled" in the headline seems fair given he's had to practice out of his car for two years. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer.
