Talk:Microsoft Flight Simulator series grounded after layoffs
"The Flight Simulator series is possibly the longest-running computer game series ever, with the first version of the game released back in 1982." Nethack (still being actively developed) is a descendant (according to 'pedia) of Rouge which was published in 1980. Would that not be a longer running series (Although perhaps that doesn't really constitute a series). Just a thought. Bawolff ☺☻ 23:26, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Sources and copyrights
editThe article seems to have been written entirely from the BBC article. The other two, much older, sources seem to have been thrown in there for "good measure". The only other current source I could find was posted on something called redorbit, but it was a copy-paste job of the BBC source. I am a bit concerned that it infringes on BBC's rights as even the opening paragraph is only, ever-so-slightly reworded from BBC's. Also, there are no attempts to attribute what appear to be excerpts from BBC exclusive interviews. Cheers, --SVTCobra 00:28, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- Oops. Okay, I rephrased the first paragraph somewhat, attributed the BBC interview, and moved around some text; is it OK now? ♪TempoDiValse♪ 00:34, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have to call it a night ... I cannot review this now. However, I wish there was more than one current source. The others are both over two weeks old. Cheers, --SVTCobra 02:54, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- All right, I added a more recent February 3 source, that's the most current I could find. Hope that helps. ♪TempoDiValse♪ 04:11, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

[sic]
editI don't think there's any need to have the [sic] in the quote after "Microsoft have..." - it's a quote from the BBC article, and British English routinely treats corporate bodies, sports teams, etc, as plural entities. -- Arwel (talk) 14:08, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- I agree, and have removed it. --Brian McNeil / talk 16:34, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
