Non-English Link edit

What's with the Serbian language link ? Isn't this an English speaking site ? StuRat 09:21, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

The original creator is probably just citing sources. Dcabrilo originally came from Belgrade, so he may have used that link as a source. Take care. SoLando 09:42, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

This headline is POV edit

I think its important to remember that many mistakes have been made recently by police falsely identifying someone as being someone else; e.g. the dead Brazilian was falsely identified by his killers (police) as being the "bombing suspect" who was later caught in Italy. Therefore, we do not as yet know that the person arrested in Belgrade is the same person as the suspect in the Madrid bombing. I will change the headline again and if someone is determined to maintain this POV headline; "Madrid bombing suspect" arrested in Belgrade... then someone else will have to correct it. The man is a suspect, which does not make him a terrorist. And he was arrested. --Dčabrilo 19:17, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • I will try once more. This person may not be the bombing suspect; just because somebody says he is does not make it so. This person apparently presented himself as someone else and we have no final determination that he is the "bombing suspect". Neutralizer 23:04, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand the argument -- this person was arrested because he is a suspect in the bombing... --Chiacomo (talk) 23:06, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
not so, he is accused of presenting false documents and until that is proven in a court of law, he is presumed to be Midhat Salah; the person he says he is. c 23:08, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

If it is determined that the police are wrong about his identity; then he is NOT a "bombing suspect" and never was. Neutralizer 23:09, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the others, not with Neutralizer. That is, he is currently a suspect. If it turns out he is not the person they are seeking, or if the person they are seeking is not found to be the bomber, then he will no longer be a bombing suspect. However, he will remain a "former bombing suspect", if that happens. It would only be wrong to refer to him as the bomber, at this point. StuRat 06:10, 19 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Please respect the article tag edit

I am asking for administrative assistance here to have the tag respected. Taking it off unilaterally after a few minutes is not acceptable. Neutralizer 23:12, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

I added another source to address your concerns. --Dčabrilo 23:13, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
The headline is not in dispute -- the identity of the suspect has been confirmed by fingerprint comparison... Regardless, all other major news outlets (our sources) use the term "suspect". --Chiacomo (talk) 23:14, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
Ok, that addition helps a lot, even though the source should be in English on this English site, I think. Thank you for your efforts. Neutralizer 23:19, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome. As far as the sources go: if we only used English sources, we wouldn't cover any but most "trivial" events outside of the English speaking world. --Dčabrilo 23:21, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
Ok, that makes sense to me.Neutralizer 23:32, 18 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
