Talk:Jefferson to face forward on new nickel

Latest comment: 13 years ago by InfantGorilla in topic Commons image duplicate

There appears to be no exact match among Rembrandt Peale's paintings of Jefferson. This was the closest match I could find, although there is another that has similar features and matches the "straight collar" more closely, albeit with Jefferson facing the wrong direction.

The hint of light under Jefferson's right cheekbone along with the neckerchief and angle of his face make this a match in my opinion however. Any dissenting opinions? Glitch010101 19:48, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I just quoted what was in one of the sources. I don't see why that can't be the pic though. Jordanmills 20:16, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Looks fine - thanks for providing an image of the (likely) original art. 06:32, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
