Copyright violation?
editUh, are you the author of this article on your other site? If so, there should really be a notice on the article or its talk page that you are licensing the article under the CC Attribution 2.5 license in both places. And, as such, the article would require attribution to your website (or you, or whatever) to comply. What's the rule on this? ironiridis 18:39, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- I should clarify what I mean: I can't find any evidence of your usage of a CC license on your website. Therefore, I don't believe it's possible to use your article verbatim on Wikinews, even if it's yours to begin with. On your website, you need to specify that you release the article under the same or a compatible license (I don't know of any other than public domain) on the article that you're reusing. Putting a link here in the talk page is fine, but I almost feel like there should be some template or something that this article came directly from your site, unmodified, and include the required attribution. ironiridis 19:00, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Ironiridis, I don't really know what you want me to do, as one of the first Wikinewsies and one of it's top contributors I happily release my news articles regularly into the public domain through Wikinews. Once I publish them here you are free to modify them as you want. I've added a small notice regarding this here: Swim-Sites News. Finally... i've been absent from the project for quite a while, so I'd like to welcome you here! → CGorman (Talk) 19:51, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
