It read too much like an ad when I started editing it, so I tried to stick in more mentioned of other hospitality services. BTW, I'm not confident that CouchSerfing is 2nd, although it seems to be. Anyway, please mention as many of the others as is reasonable and provide active links to their wikipedia pages. We edon't want this to be an advertisement for one service over another. Advertisement

I think this is a significant story. The news is that those organisations that were maginals for decades have known shown that they are becoming a significant factor in the touristic industry. With background information since the subject is little known even though it is notable. Is that angle not stressed enough? Do you have any suggestions in how to improve the article in that regards? --Valmi 11:49, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

If you can suggest/make any specific improvments, great, but they story should be fine in theory. Anyway, I'd rather see this than Apple's new iPod. Plus, the existance of compeditors should make this article easier to NPOV than an article about Wikipedia passing some number of members. Nyarlathotep 19:09, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Its members use the website HospitalityClub.org to coordinate accommodation and other services, such as guiding or regaling travellers. Hospitality Club is currently the largest such hospitality network.

HC was founded by Veit Kuehne in 2000. There is some criticism about the fact that there is still no official organisation after 6 years.

Recently there has been some controversy over how the club is managed and about the fact that messages containing links to other hospitality exchange sites like w:CouchSurfing are deleted under the guise of "spam checking".
