@Blood Red Sandman: Thanks for the copyedits and the review! Just wanted to point to w:Narendra Modi which says he was Chief Minister from 7 October 2001 – 22 May 2014, which means he was in power when the 2002 riots took place. I misunderstood the link created by {{w}}, thinking it pointed to Wikipedia, but it actually points to the WN category about him. The bit about him being in power for 10 years should be changed to "more than 12 years" as well. Cheers. Green Giant (talk) 14:27, 28 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi, it can (and should! :) be added back in with a source, but Wikipedia isn't reliable for our purposes. Thanks to you, for writing the piece. BRS (Talk) (Contribs) 14:42, 28 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done with source. Green Giant (talk) 16:10, 28 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, the source was NYT, which for me, at least, has been paywalled for years. We do have an explicit policy forbidding use of pay-to-read sources (which I believe was made explicit to prevent arguments when reviewers disallow such sources). However, these background facts about Modi are all in our published article about his election as PM.
As rule, adding sources is considered strictly off-limits for purposes of independent review; so, although this case has some peculiarities, I'm inclined not to self-sight. --Pi zero (talk) 17:19, 28 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sighted, with thanks to both of you. BRS (Talk) (Contribs) 17:56, 28 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
