This is the funniest thing I have heard in a long, long time. 210.54.2.243 21:44, 26 February 2007 (UTC) (not logged in, Nzgabriel.)Reply

Misleading headline? edit

Personally, I think the headline is a bit off. It says that the golfer is suing Wikipedia itself, when the opening paragraph states it's the Wikipedia editor who vandalised the article. Which is more correct? Dragei 21:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Messedrocker moved the article from Golfer sues Wikipedia over vandal edit to Golfer sues Wikipedia editor over article defacement. --Thunderhead - (talk) 23:13, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, just noticed that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'd also like to thank Messedrocker for making the headline more accurate to the article. Dragei 00:49, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Even more accurate, Golfer sues law firm over Wikipedia article defacement. Zoeller doesn't know who the editor is exactly, and he's suing the firm to find out who they are. -- Zanimum 15:41, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

wikipedia revisions edit

First "wrote a biased paragraph about him" isn't sufficient information. We'll need the exact quotes (and ideally a link to the wikipedia article versions).

Second I suspect this article has incorect information since his pedia article has no edits between August 2006 and January 2007. I'm not sure why you'd bother deleting these edits. Otoh, if edits were delted, this article needs to say so, since it appears false otherwise. Nyarlathotep 03:17, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Here are the court documents which include the quotes apperently. Nyarlathotep 03:26, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

In rare cases, administrators can delete specific edits out of articles, to remove libel. You delete the full article, then restore only certain edits. (We can actually do it here too, but I've never heard of it used on Wikinews.) -- Zanimum 15:43, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
We've done it numerous times here too, mostly to remove copyright infringements. --+Deprifry+ 15:50, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've never heard that done to remove copyright infringements. (I've seen It be done to remove a couple other things though). Bawolff 23:47, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
So this article is not referring to the oversight thingy, just plain deleting it? Bawolff 23:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
