Talk:Deadly Typhoon Cimaron makes landfall in Luzon

Is this "kills many" on the redneck counting method? i.e. One, Two, ... er ... Many? Or are further casualties expected and this isn't going to be published for a while?

I ask as it is currently misleading, the headline doesn't match with the story which only talks about one confirmed casualty and two missing. --Brian McNeil / talk 17:11, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

By the time I finish this article, there were be many more deaths reported. Icelandic Hurricane 17:22, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
If it doesn't kill more people by the end of the day, how do I move this page, cuz I guess I will have to do that if no more news come out about it. Icelandic Hurricane 22:15, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Nvm. I figured out how. Icelandic Hurricane 02:07, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Am I allowed to update this? Appartently, 16 people died, and 6 died from flooding, not 5. If I do update this, should I move the date to the 31st? And when it causes damage in Vietnam (unfortunately, it will), I should create a separate article, right? Icelandic Hurricane 12:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

more damage info. Icelandic Hurricane 21:15, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
and more. Icelandic Hurricane 21:16, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
typically, updates to an article published for a day or more is not a good idea - better alternative is to create a new article for reporting later developments. if the new info is too little to merit an article, updates can be made, and a date-bump should be considered. remember to update dates of sources (eg. weather data from USGS) if updated info from them is used in the article. another alternative sometimes used has been placing updates under an section explicitly labelled as an update at such-and-such time. one more thing to remember is to make appropriate changes to introduction and main page lead synopsis to reflect new info in article.  — Doldrums(talk) 05:13, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia has an article edit

I added the {{wikipediapar}} tag with the link to the Typhoon Cimaron. However, over at Wikipedia they have consolidated the articles on individual storms into an article on the season. Thus, my link is to a section. The tag does handle it, but it shows up with the ugly # in the middle. Is there something I can do to make that look better, or is that just the way it is? --SVTCobra 01:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maybe a featured article? edit

TY Cimaron 200610291230Z.jpg edit

Please replace "Tropical Cyclone Cimaron (2006-10-29T12-30-00Z).jpg" with "TY Cimaron 200610291230Z.jpg". Thanks. Siebrand (talk) 23:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
