Boy, was this fast-tracked or what? The first pargraph at least is extremely shaky. Daytona's and Indy's 500s are not held on the same day and calling the Brickyard 400 one of "three top races in American motor sports" is deceptive and highly arguable. Rewrite by someone more knowledgable, please. 172.164.108.33 (talk) 03:33, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I didn't catch that. Thanks..... I'll try to reword it. --Nascar1996 04:01, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yep, I see what I did, I confused Scot Dixon winning on Sunday for some reason. Maybe I'm actually too knowledgeable? :) Turtlestack (talk) 04:35, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
By the way, these three races constitute a "triple crown" in motor sports so there is nothing subjective about it - that's why it's an important story and why I chose to lede with the historical context of Ganassi doing something nobody has ever done before. On wikipedia I would be calling for references on that claim. Who considers two races from one style and one race from another a "triple crown". Citation please! 75.41.110.200 (talk) 17:53, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's an owners, not drivers triple crown. Read the article. Turtlestack (talk) 21:13, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Background

edit

I have added some "Paris is in France" type background facts, but I feel we need to back them up with sources. Please list relevant sources here --InfantGorilla (talk) 11:12, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

  1. Ganassi once a racing driver http://www.chipganassiracing.com/media/index.cfm?cid=21028
  2. Sports car and CART racing, three consecutive CART championships, McMurray's spell at RFR http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/sports/2533226,4_2_JO25_BRICKYARD_S1-100726.article
  3. TCGR formed in 1990, seven open wheel championships http://www.chipganassiracing.com/media/index.cfm?cid=1317
  4. CGR and SABCO merge in 2001 http://www.chipganassiracing.com/media/index.cfm?cid=21029

As far as I can tell, this list covers the background facts I added. --InfantGorilla (talk) 11:42, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

MotoGP

edit

I think it is ok to include a paragraph about Sunday's MotoGP. I have proposed one for review. --InfantGorilla (talk) 12:03, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
