Talk:Bull fighting banned in Catalonia

Latest comment: 13 years ago by InfantGorilla in topic Prou! is Catlan and the group is Catlonian

I'm not a "reviewer", but as a reader, that para-sentence sticks out a bit. Can it be merged with the first paragraph? They both discuss the activists so it seems the most natural place for it. I also did a very minor copy edit and added a couple of categories, CAT:Sports and CAT:Culture and entertainment because, well, they are considered that in Spain. Also, AFAIK, anything that can be Wikilinked to a local category should be, rather than pointing readers away from this site and onto its sister pages. The only one I see is the link to Catalonia. I'm not 100% on this though, so the reviewer should correct if necessary. Matthewedwards (talk) 20:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well Catalonia is currently a redlink locally, hence my linking of it to w:Catalonia, but both Spain and Barcelona exist locally. It should probably be created, but I'm not sure there are enough articles to sustain it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:25, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I know, but there is Catalonia, which would serve near enough the same purpose. <shrugs> Matthewedwards (talk) 20:37, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Good point. I redirected Catalonia to the cat. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:40, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK, cool. Admittedly it's not the most populous category at the moment, but perhaps there are articles in the archives that can be added in. :) Matthewedwards (talk) 20:43, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I found 2 more in the archives that should be in the cat, so I requested it be added. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:50, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Review of revision 1067310 [Passed] edit

Do reviewers take note of legitimate concerns brought up with pre-published articles before passing them? A one-sentence paragraph is hardly on par with professional writing. Even though it isn't forbidden in the English language, it is usually reserved for emphasising a point stronger than what is being done here.
Also, upon reviewing the WN:SG, it says, "Make links for regions and countries to the Wikinews region or country, not to the Wikipedia articles for same. Wikinews readers' primary interest is in further news, and should be directed to other news articles".
Neither are big issues, but I think reviewers here can be a bit gung-ho sometimes. Matthewedwards (talk) 20:35, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing those things. It seems to be a pretty good source, so it throws into doubt BBC and other English language sources. I will delete that sentence again. --InfantGorilla (talk) 16:49, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

'Prou' does not have a meaning in spanish, the name must be in catalán. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.107.228.1 (talkcontribs) 15:18, 29 July 2010

Updated of the Catalonian ban on bullfighting edit

On Oct 20, 2016 the Spanish Constitutional Court ruled that the regional Parliament of Catalonia (one of the 17 autonomous regions in Spain) has not competences to declare illegal any show/spectacle that is legal in Spain. Consequently, the ban that the regional Parliament of Catalonia passed in 2010 is considered null. http://www.elmundo.es/cultura/2016/10/20/57f4cf5ee5fdea5e408b4611.html
