I'm not certain this is a hoax. But it certainly seems like one. While the voltages aren't impossibly high to have been brought about by the stated cause, the effects are rather fantastic and unlikely. - McCart42 (talk) 13:55, 17 September 2005 (UTC)

To speak of "current" as in this article shows ignorance of the physics. "Static" electricity can involve high voltages, but the currents are very small and momentary unless we are dealing with very large-scale phenomena such as lightning. A jacket would not be sitting in fire department generating "current". Mpulier 04:08, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi, just thought I would say that this article fails to report the story! Instead it tries to argue against it. Surely this is not how it should be!
