Talk:Armed troops take control of Suva, Fiji
How to stop a coup for dummies...
editThey could fire the head of the military, he would the no longer be able to give the orders, etc. --Nzgabriel | Talk 01:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC) --Not really, because he could still command the troops. If their rebelling against a leader, i doubt they'll recognize that their leader is fired by the person they hate.Neito 02:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- True. --Nzgabriel | Talk 02:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Its the same with most overthrows; happened with Pakistan, I think.
title
editTitle is bordering on misleading, it sounds as they took control for a coup. But in fact it appears to be just an exercise, which should be reflected. Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 07:40, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
I don't really understand the article either, from what I do get the title should be: "government troops make show of force in Suva, Fiji." It sounds like the government of Fiji is worried that foreign governments (New Zealand?) are trying to encourage a coup? SethDelisle 17:53, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Agree. --85.86.37.31 13:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
please make the intro more informative
editWho are the foreigners? I am not going to read the whole article to find out what the title should say. Please make the intro and the title generally more informative. Bill3 08:13, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
What is this article about? *confused* 144.32.128.119 03:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Word Traitor
editI don't think anyone should be called a traitor in a wikinews article. I can't find a reference for Speight being convicted of treason; but that seems fair to mention in the article. SethDelisle 17:53, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
