Talk:Alleged drug kingpin arrested in Mexico

Review of revision 936233 [Passed]Edit

BajaEdit

@Mikemoral: This actually took place in Baja California Sur. Seems to me "Baja California" is so often used in the US (at least) to mean the penninsula that we really should rename the category to "Baja California (state)", as Commons does. I admit, whether to create a category for the southern state, and whether to create a category for the peninsula, would take some extra study; but at a minimum, I do think we need to rename the current cat. --Pi zero (talk) 13:04, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Oh, wait, you do have a cat for the southern state? <goes 'round to recheck some things> Not that it matters to the point about renaming Category:Baja California. --Pi zero (talk) 13:08, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Argh. I'm about to shift it over. --Pi zero (talk) 13:18, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
It's arguable you can include it in the northern Baja category since the criminal operations were based in Tijuana, while the arrest was in La Paz (Baja Sur, says sources). Cerntainly though, most people in the U.S. would orobably just call the peninsula Baja and forget about the Mexican states. —mikemoral (talk · contribs) 22:13, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Afaics there's no action in this article that takes place in the northern half of the peninsula.

Even without applying transitive closure, most of the articles about either of the two states are also about the peninsula. As for the name of the category for the northern state, the fact that people so often say "Baja" and mean the peninsula is a source of potential confusion. --Pi zero (talk) 22:29, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
