Didn't see this until now, but glad to have your support! --JJLiu112 (talk) 16:21, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I would really appreciate if you could review this, @Bddpaux:, perhaps as a test of your enthusiasm ;) --JJLiu112 (talk) 18:28, 24 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

displaytitle edit

Since this is under {{editing}} (even though I can prolly get away with that -- but not to risk it) consider adding this at the beginning {{DISPLAYTITLE:'Each makes the other more difficult': University of Sussex professor L. Alan Winters speaks to Wikinews on trade, COVID, Brexit}}. Though it should be COVID-19.

Review edit

I'd appreciate if someone could review this: @Acagastya:, @Bddpaux:, @Green Giant:, @RockerballAustralia:? --JJLiu112 (talk) 22:14, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@JJLiu112: Please explain on the talk-page, how you reached out to Winters, why them, and why these things were discussed, and other details before expecting an interview to be reviewed. It is kind of getting repetitive at this point. These details not only help someone else trying OR/interview for the first time, it also helps understand your position, and bias through ignorance/omission, if any. I would suggest you do it when you are starting with the draft, but make sure you do it before you submit for review.

I hope this suffices. --JJLiu112 (talk) 17:40, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Acagastya is right at least in terms of the spirit of the law....I will rarely dig too deep (because I don't have time) to suss out if you have some sort of bias or whatevs, but we do have a policy about Conflict of interests. But: there is ABSOLUTELY value in letting a reviewer know about your actions in the early stages of things. --Bddpaux (talk) 01:26, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Upon Acagastya's request edit

I reached out to Winters by e-mail on 31 May, he responded in the affirmative the next day. I replied with a time, he accepted the next day. We held a Zoom call on 3 June. I chose to contact Winters alongside other professional researchers in the UK and EU, not only for his expertise in UK trade policy and experience in international trade organisations, but for his past willingness to speak to the press on issues of this sort; he has written for the newspaper The Times, for example, on many occasions. We discussed what we did not only to expand upon his research and experience, but to tie this into recent developments: the impact of COVID-19, the G7 summit, British plans for a Democracies 10 and questions over fishing, Ireland and 'original' trade agreeemnts are very timely. The questions were therefore written and asked in the direct hope of facilitating discussion of pertinent, opportune and suitable issues for a person of his background and calibre to analyse and make comment on. --JJLiu112 (talk) 17:40, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have forwarded correspondence to scoop, btw JJLiu112 (talk) 20:54, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Queries edit

I am half way through the verification of the audio -- but as I note @Bddpaux: has tagged the article {{under review}}. Well, I do have some questions about the transcript so far. @JJLiu112: could you answer them, please? I will ask as I go through the verification notes.

  1. "And so add to that that we've now sort of taken on potentially an extra three or four [billion] worth of debt;" -- why is billion in square brackets? He said "3-4 hundred billions" in the call.
    •–• 03:58, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
If I recall, I assumed he said “million” or similar. Is there a time stamp for this so I could verify? JJLiu112 (talk) 03:59, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Roughly around 3:43.
•–• 04:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Corrected billions to billion, as “3-4 hundred billions” of pounds (as implied) is not grammatically accurate. Thus, the brackets. JJLiu112 (talk) 04:23, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
@JJLiu112: So why is hundred omitted?
•–• 06:11, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not sure, too long since I did that. Could you please add? JJLiu112 (talk) 07:40, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm back at it. I'm through 21:40 of the interview. I don't plan to re-hash what Acagastaya has covered already and will assume that stuff as fixed at this point. --Bddpaux (talk) 15:40, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've made it through 33:15 of the audio.--Bddpaux (talk) 16:05, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm finished with the audio, now I'm spot checking some source related stuff and making sure it is glued in properly. --Bddpaux (talk) 16:21, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Acagastaya is taking it from here. I'm tired. --Bddpaux (talk) 17:13, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have found some issues with the audio -- but waiting for some answers (CC@JJLiu112:) -- please do NOT publish till then, @Bddpaux:. It is past my bed time -- so in the morning, perhaps.

Apologies. As previously noted, computer access in the past weeks have been patchy at best. What are said issues? --JJLiu112 (talk) 18:48, 29 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
