Controversy

Is it worth mentioning that a number of non-US Wikimedians didn't attend the Boston event in 2006 because of the very same issues brought up about Egypt (human rights, free speech, safety)?

Also, sodomy was illegal in Georgia less than 10 years ago, and Georgia voters voted 75% for a gay-marriage ban in 2004. It seems like a stretch to sell Atlanta as the the gay-friendly alternative to Alexandria. --Evan 13:45, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
