Removing content verified in a bizzillion newspapers

Removing my old words.... "In 2000 she was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame." This is not on the the US Hockey Hall of Fame list of enshrinees web site, but it is in newspapers galore... Vancouver Sun article Star article CBC article tsn article ctv article and so on, the google list goes on forever. SriMesh | talk 03:08, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is there a way to state that.... the newspaper XYZ says that In 2000 she was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, however she is not on the US Hockey Hall of Fame list of enshrinees. SriMesh | talk 03:08, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Title change again

Could the title be Colleen Howe, sports agent for former hockey player Gordie Howe, dies at age 76

This focuses more on her notability / gift / claim to fame, rather than the archaic, women's claim to fame is being the wife of somebody. or is it more personal for an obituary the way it is.SriMesh | talk 05:19, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think its more important to say wife. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 21:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

International Woman's Day

March 8, 2009 was international women's day. SriMesh | talk 20:51, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Should the link be given to the The Association for Frontotemporal Dementias, , 1616 Walnut St., Suite 1100, Philadelphia, PA 19103 .... the link for The Howe Foundation is already a reference. This is where folks should send any contributions in lieu of flowers, and other online entities include the link but I don't know the protocoal for I feel I am still learning the ropes SriMesh | talk 21:26, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article says 'ot to', but I'm not sure what the correct sentence should be. Van der Hoorn (talk) 14:41, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks "ot to" should be "or to" and has been changed Thank you SriMesh | talk 19:13, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

This seems stale to me, no source newer than March 7. --SVTCobra 00:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The funeral for Colleen Howe is March 11, 2009, today. The article was written timely about the passing, but the wikinews process did not work as a collaboration of editors coming together for her. It is a great tragedy that wikinews could not honour Colleen Howe, as she seemed to indeed be an awesome lady. You may as well delete her. SriMesh | talk 01:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your work so far at making this news again by including info on the memorials is looking good. Just saying she was dead five days ago was not news. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:20, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
An abandoned tag does not mean that an article is 'killed' it just means that it needs to be fixed within a certain amount of time. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:23, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
OK, it just seems that dates lapsing is the best way of not having an article on wikinews rather than addressing issues, and I guess I liked Colleen, even though I never met her. And it is sad, and I am new on wikinews, and I don't know the rules of how to make an article good. SriMesh | talk 01:49, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
For better or worse, that is what distinguishes Wikinews from Wikipedia. "Facts don't cease to be facts, but news ceases to be news." Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:53, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Review revision 783222

It was so titled because it was published upon her being put into the ground, rather than at the time of her death. It was going stale but I allowed it after details of the funeral were added. I guess "funeral held for..." could have been used instead of "laid to rest" but isn't that really semantics? Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:03, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
