Serena Williams is the defending Ladies' champion, after beating her sister Venus in 2009, turning the tables on her sister who won in 2008.

The Women's singles Wimbledon tennis title has been won by Serena Williams after she beat her older sister Venus Williams 7–6 (3), 6–2 in Wimbledon, London Borough of Merton, Great Britain, on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Between the two Williams sisters, they have succeeded in capturing the Women's singles titles eight times in the past ten years.

Just hours later, Serena and Venus also brought home the Wimbledon Women's Doubles title 7-6, 6-4 for the fourth time beating out Australia's Rennae Stubbs and Samantha Stosur.
