Country links to categories?

As it is now, the country links at the top of the page links to the wikipedia page about the country. Maybe we should link to the category instead? At least if it exists? --Regebro 11:12, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I know on the North America page the beginnings of state/province pages are beginning- sort of like a main page for each. We'd probably want to do that for each country, yes? At least untill we can manipulate categories a great deal more. Lyellin 15:42, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Sorry :). Instead of having each country link to a category page, I had envisioned it as each country linking to a "country main page". Each country would then have something like a "Wikinews Germany" division, and articles regarding that country would be put there. I was thinking that would be better than having a category page for each country as what we link to here, just because the categories cannot be sorted by anything save title. Instead, we'd link the category on each country page, so that users wishing to see a large list of all articles pertaining to a country can see that list. Lyellin 17:51, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

European Union portal

I think there should be a European Union portal. The EU news (debates, discussions, elections) have not a proper portal. Maybe the Europe portal should provide a link to a more specific portal for the European Union.161.74.11.24 13:02, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

There is actually a portal for the European Union. I added a link at the top of the page following the example of other regions.Gpeilon 12:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
