Police in Salinas, California identify teenage gunshot victim

Police in Salinas, California have identified a 15-year-old boy killed on August 6 in what is believed to be a gang related shooting. The boy, Jose Manual Perez, was found by police at 2:15 p.m. local time, when they responded to reports of a shooting at Terrace Street.

Perez was discovered with many bullet wounds and was rushed to Navitidad Hospital Medical Center, however he died just shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

Police are investigating the fatal shooting as being gang related and are asking the public for help in catching the perpetrators. No arrests have as yet been made.
