Paul Gillmor in his official Congress photo

Representative Paul Gillmor was found dead in his Arlington, Virginia, apartment this Wednesday at the age of 68. Gillmor, a Republican, represented Ohio's fifth district in the United States House of Representatives. The investigation is ongoing, however, some report he had suffered a heart attack.

Born in Ohio, he graduated from the University of Michigan, and later joined the US Air Force as a Judge Advocate. In 1967, he was elected as a senator, where he stayed until 1988. He was the Republican leader during two of his terms. Since 1988, he has been a member of the House of Representatives. His replacement will be determined through a special election.
