Comments:Iran's parliament labels CIA a terrorist organization

Why would the use of depleted uranium munitions be considered a terrorist act?

  • Because the retards don't know what the word 'depleted' means. Contralya 19:40, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
You should clearly take a look at the definition yourself. Dave420 15:04, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, depleted doesn't necessarily mean safe. This is quite funny though. I'm waiting for the "George Bush is the hand of Satan on the earth" bill. Spacehusky 23:57, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
  • The use of DU is only hurting the US's position in the world, and I think it should be stopped. However, this resolution is sort of like a horse saying a male porn star has large private parts. 68.239.208.59 02:59, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
lol. That is a great comparison. Bawolff 03:39, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
And completely inaccurate. Dave420 13:41, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
  • DU is made of uranium, it is inherently radioactive (yes uranium 238 is radioactive) and is also toxic. An alternative is the use of Tungsten, but Uranium has the advantage of becoming incendiary upon impact of the projectile which increase the likehood of explosion and casualty inside tank. - 65.92.92.209 04:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Because it is, as noted above, inherently radioactive. When it is shot at something (say, a tank), it partly vapourises, creating a radioactive gas that is very dangerous when inhaled. This radioactivity can persist in an area for decades, and can kill long after the war is over. Dave420 11:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Reminds me of led munitions. But I doubt there would be any deaths caused by it unless some hundred rounds were fired in close proximity. Contralya 16:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

The CIA has toppled more governments around the world than Iran has. The US has invaded more countries around the world than Iran has. The US has used more nuclear weapons on other countries than Iran has. Just FYI. It's not as if the CIA is actually any "better" than the bad guys they go after, in fact. From Chile to Guatemala, Iran to Indonesia - if you want to find an enemy of democracy, the CIA is a great place to start. Dave420 11:22, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Yea, but that isn't terrorism. Terrorism is threatening to murder someone if demands aren't met, blowing up civilians to prove a point, and other genocidal acts, so the CIA, wile it does interfere with the way the world runs, isn't technically terrorist. Iran's government is technically terrorist because they equip and train terrorists. The forces that stormed Cuba in the 'bay of pigs' were not terrorists, they were cheap mercenaries. Contralya 16:09, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Your definition of terrorism is correct. If you read what the CIA did in Guatemala, for example, (using bombers to scare the people into revolting) then yes - they did indeed perform acts of terrorism. Their terroristic activities are part of their greater plans of action. Dave420 13:51, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
What killing leaders isn't terrorism?Che Guevara! Attempted assassinations?Fidel Castro, (the guy they tried to get Saddam to kill)!giving gorilla groups guns inst terrorism? Osama bin laden, the iraq-iran war, hell this list would be so long its best if you look into south American history (particularly Chile) yourself!

Helping recruitment for terror

edit

Iran doing this means that more anti-Americans will join actual terrorists. The people agreeing with Iran are examples, some of these anti-Americans would gladly take up arms against the American people. What you don't get, is that it is BUSH that is doing all of these bad things! He wanted to use small nukes in bunker busters, he is responsible for Guantanamo and the others, he is responsible for the stupid war in Iraq. Don't blame the American people for HIS stupidity. Remember, he has a very low approval rating. He makes all Americans look bad. Hate W, not U.S.... Contralya 16:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Its not just bush take a look at the history books, youve been fucking with the world and giving people weapons since at least the end of WW2. sure its not the American people but its not just bush!

Bush the terroist

edit

It's about time, the U.S. government is a terroist organization. I am an American and a christian. Bush needs to be impeached now.

One may argue that Bush is a terrorist, but the government isn't. The military definitely isn't. He is nearing the end of his last term... If the government were terrorist, he would be 'president for life'.

The military used "shock and awe" to coerce the Baghdad people (and the army) into not fighting back, which is a terrorist act. Any time a military uses force, or even threatens it, against a civilian population in order to get them to do (or not do) something, they're terrorists. It doesn't sit easy, but it's the definition of the word, and the forces that invaded Iraq certainly performed acts of terrorism. Dave420 13:54, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

And by the way, it is spelled terrorist. You just said a Bushism, haha. Contralya 17:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

American? Christian? Government is evil? Keep up that line of thought, Timothy McVeigh. You might have something going for you. 71.60.134.55 20:59, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

The founding fathers had the same train of thought. I guess they were whack-jobs, too. Dave420 13:54, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, you can tell by listening to that Mockme Imanutjob guy's lies. He just wants to feed his supporters and rally anti-Americans (including terrorists). Contralya 18:55, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Or you can read what he actually has to say, which is a great deal different to that which is reported in the media. No-one's right all of the time, and he regularly isn't right, but sometimes he hits the proverbial nail right on the head. Considering the US overthrew the government in Iran and installed a dictator, you can imagine Iranian anger at the US is not exactly without merit. I'm sure if the US had its government overthrown by Iran, and Iran installed a dictator, most Americans wouldn't be too pleased with Iran. Dave420 13:56, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Not just bush

edit

I understand that bush is the current cause of tension, but you cant blame the world hating America on him. America (or at least the American government) have been screwing people over and funding terrorists for a long time, particularly in the oil rich middle east and south America! Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan & Chile are all prime examples of where the US funded 1 side then the other ( and were not talking charity balls btw )! I can't remember all the details for the history of CIA intervention but you are on wikipidea so here are a few links

Chile -Nixon

Afghanistan - Carter

Afghanistan 2 - Bush (jr)

Iran -1953

Iran/Iraq

Iraq

[1] - not completely relevant but 638 failed attempts its not like the CIA are very good! (although interestingly and even more off topic a catholic isn't aloud to believe in communism!)

"It is notable that whereas accused and even acknowledged terrorists who have made common cause with the CIA in the past live happily in the United States, individuals with often sketchy connections with latter-day terrorism have ended up incarcerated without trial at Guantanamo Bay."

hmm i just found this page which is the lists alot more CIA action (mainly pre-bush) here
