Was something newsworthy about this concert? Having been a longtime fan of Ben Folds, it is nothing new that he would perform for a university. He has been doing so ever since he went solo, and probably even before. If there was nothing newsworthy about the concert, then why make it news?
This article reads like a submission to a neighborhood or university publication, where a popular performing artist coming to town might be news. While this sort of news reporting is fine for a college publication, in an online forum it will only clog the boards for the rest of us (imagine the clutter if even half the colleges in this country posted one article of local news a week to wikinews!) Wikinews is a global forum and the interests of the global community should be considered before posting.
