this is news? - Imind (talk) 19:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not really hard news. I thought it was going to turn into something more than it did. —Calebrw (talk) 20:01, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, this is not news. I recomend it to be promptly deleted. - 71.233.85.164 23:23, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
How is it "not news"? I imagine you must have a pretty narrow definition of news. --SVTCobra 02:24, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
because pneumonia is hardly newsworthy, IMO. no offense meant to the author of the piece, of course, whomever that may be. - Imind (talk) 17:59, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
um...RIP - Imind (talk) 15:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
oops... pneumonia isn't usually this serious. Sorry. - 71.233.85.164 19:17, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The point here is not that someone died of pneumonia, but that someone who is known and appreciated. Bernie is a talented comedian with a number of film credits to his name. He will be missed by many. THAT is why it is news —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.251.244.246 (talk) 04:06, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

the questions of its "newsworthiness" were asked before his death. prior to that, it was simply a case of pneumonia. -Imind (talk) 16:56, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ironic Talk page content edit

I know this situation isn't funny, but I can't help but chuckle wryly at the conversation here. I'm sure a variation of the content on this talk page played out in many people's heads when they read this article and others like it. And probably in the head of Bernie Mac and his family as well when they wondered why the media was even bothering to publish this story. It was a surprising death, and I don't think that anyone saw it coming from a simple case of treated pneumonia. Gopher65talk 04:42, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
