British police arrest ten due to terrorism suspicions
Saturday, October 8, 2005
Ten suspected terrorists were arrested in three different parts of Britain. In the Croydon section of south London three men were arrested. In Wolverhampton, four were arrested in a series of dawn raids at three addresses and three in Derby, Scotland Yard said.
Police Give Little Detail on the Case
Police and the security service, MI5 say that they made the arrest as a result of a “investigation”. Forensic searches were undertaken at all the properties, but the police gave no details of the nationality of the individuals. A spokesman said the investigation was not connected to the bomb attacks in London in July. Scotland Yard, meanwhile, has called on the government to provide more resources and funds to tackle the terrorist threat in the capital.
