Chicago Fire beat DC United to take a 1-0 advantage into the 2^nd leg on Chris Rolfe 1^st career playoff goal. Chicago Fire also remained undefeated against DC United in the playoffs.

Chicago played a defensive game as DC United, who scored 56 goals during the regular season, only managed 2 shots which hit the target.

The return leg is at home to DC United on Thursday, November 1.
