Wikinews talk:Modelling Wikinews' growth

Being a Free project, you should be using OpenOffice... :) Dan100 (Talk) 20:31, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I knew it would be dangerous to say I was using Excel! But I did'nt pay for it! It's on the computer im using anyways. I have OpenOffice on my computer aswell... but sometimes it just does'nt preform as well as Excel! Its improving though.

To keep the hounds at bay; i've been using Firefox since Dec. → CGorman (Talk) 20:37, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hey, you coulda fixed my crap wikilinking ;). BTW have you tried one of the OOo 2.0 betas? I've been using them for a few weeks and I'm finding them an improvement on Office XP. The new database, in particular, is a godsend, if still a little buggy Dan100 (Talk) 20:58, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
To be honest besides using excel to create the odd chart the only other piece of software I seem to use on my computer is Wordpad to write up wikinews stories before publishing them! → CGorman (Talk) 22:31, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Modelling edit

Appreciate the work on this, CGorman. Are we thinking about keeping some ongoing data available for complex modeling, or are the ones on Awareness statistics enough? - Amgine 03:38, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

To be honest I was just messing about in Excel one night and came up with those figures - i've no plkans as to where we go from here. As regards data wikistats has been launched, plenty there for other charts and projections. → CGorman (Talk) 14:19, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
