Welcome to my talk page

Here, obviously, you drop in messages. I will be happy to answer them on your talk pages but only under certain conditions. I will not respond to: Trolling, blatant abuse, and patent nonsense. I don't like swear words or any kind of dodgy comment on my page. So please be sensible.

Welcome edit

The Mackem journalist, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 19:26, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Licencing edit

Hi,

your most welcome to write stories here! The way this site works is that we write the stories ourselves, based on several sources. This way we want to create a free and neutral news source.

What you cannot do is copy-paste stories here from other sites, or put direct copies of press releases, stories from news agencies you might have access to etc. You must somehow rephrase the sources in your own words. Just read some stories and look at there source code (by clicking "edit this page") to get the hang of it, and put {{ready}} at the end: this will alert others to review your story, which is probably a good idea for a newbie.

If you have any questions, I'm going away now but feel free to ask them on my talk page, or some else (as explained above).

CBB edit

Yes Prof. Sunderland, go ahead.

It's either I'm or I am by the way. Gary Kirk 16:55, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You were blocked on the English Wikipedia and used a sockpuppet, w:User:Professor Sunderland, to evade the block. Gary Kirk 18:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please remember: It's either I'm or I am. Not I' am. Gary Kirk 21:11, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Updates edit

To avoid conflicts of info and such, we tend to not update articles once they have been published for a day or more especially if the story is not Breaking News. DragonFire1024 20:40, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
