Easily avoidable accident

A similar accident took place in Taiwan a few years back. A bus full of school children was hit by a train. In this case, there was traffic in front of the bus forcing the driver to stop the vehicle on the tracks.

Adding one simple safety rule would entirely avoid these types of collisions: mandatory stops at all railroad crossings for all vehicles carrying more than six passengers.

If the driver of the bus in the Egyptian accident had stopped and looked before crossing, he would've seen the train coming. If the driver of the bus in the Taiwanese accident had stopped and waited for the traffic to move on before starting to cross the railroad tracks, the accident never would've taken place.

I personally stop at railroad crossings and look both ways before crossing.
