Point of Protocol

So... what exactly is the proper social protocol when you go to a stag party, and there is a guy dressed as a Nazi? Shoot him in the face? Go home? Yell at him? Rip off his insignia? I'm confused... Did Miss Manners ever talk about this?

I agree. This is a bit silly. A picture doesn't convay the words. As far as we know, he could have been politely asking the man dressed up as an SS Nazi to leave, or to change, or why he's even dressed like that at all. There is no reason for him losing his job over this picture.

Political correctness to the extreme. Maybe they wanted an excuse to fire him anyway and this photo was all the ammunition needed.

Apparently —but this point isn't clear from this article, you'd have to dig a bit into the sources (alas)— it wasn't just one person dressed that way, there was something of a Nazism theme. When you go to a stag party and find that, you definitely leave; it's not a remotely difficult call.
