Wikinews:Why "Portal:" is bad

The "Portal:" namespace is bad because:

  1. Pages can't be found via the search box unless a user clicks Search - clicking Go or hitting enter will always fail to find page in the "Portal:" space.
  2. It looks weird - the BBC is happy to say just to have Africa as the title of their pages, why can't we?
  3. If you want to exclude portal-type pages from DPLs, just add category:portal to portal pages (most/all already have it, I understand) and exclude that category from your DPL.
  4. It's extra complexity - Keep It Simple, Stupid (KISS principle), Less is More, "Perfection is achieved not when there's anything left to add, but when there's nothing left to take away".
